Fiery Apple Cocktail

The Fiery Apple cocktail is one of those elusive drinks that are lesser known on the cocktail circuit but has quite the cult following among a particular niche of mixed drink aficionados. This is because it celebrates a flavor that people tend to either love or loathe, namely sour apple.  It also straight-up lies right there in its cute little apple cocktail name. There’s no spice or fire here, folks. In fact, it’s all greens and blues!

Recipe tricks & tips

Here are a few tricks and tips that will help you to level up when you shake up the Fiery Apple cocktail at home:

Level up your liqueur

While Blue Curacao adds a dash of greenish whimsy to this drink, it’s not the only liqueur you can use in the Fiery Apple cocktail. In fact, if you want to up the ante on the citrus flavor it imparts, we highly recommend switching it out for a top-shelf orange liqueur like Grand Marnier. This liqueur comes to the party with oodles of personality and captivating notes of vanilla and oak that really build out the flavor profile of the mixed drink.

Lean into the theme

Okay, so we are suckers for getting really involved on a thematic level, so here’s a cool idea for a snack that echoes the whole flame and apple notion. Serve cored green apple slices with almond butter and a dusting of cinnamon and a tiny amount of cayenne pepper to add a bit of a bite. This way you’ll be serving fiery apples with Fiery Apples. Hehe. Nerdy but fun!

Alternatively, you can add cayenne pepper to super thin apple slices and pop them in the oven or air fryer to dehydrate and use these pretty slivers as a garnish on your drink.

This Fiery Apple cocktail recipe is one of the most inventive drinks to serve if your crowd loves a sour apple vibe, and also makes a wonderful Halloween cocktail. Go on – we double dare you to give it a go!
