Top recipe tips for first-time Apple Margarita makers

Here are a few insider tips that will help you to serve up the best Apple Margarita cocktail ever:

Make your own sour mix

Sour mix is pretty simple to find at any liquor store, but you can 100% make your own at home – it’s easy, a lot cheaper and it tastes a lot better. You’ll need 1 cup (200g) of sugar, 1 cup (8 oz) of water, 1 cup (8 oz) of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and half a cup (4 oz) of freshly squeezed lime juice.

Bring the sugar and water to a boil over high heat to make a syrup by stirring the sugar until it dissolves. While it cools, strain the fresh juice into a resealable bottle (discard the pulp). Add the cooled syrup and shake vigorously to combine. Your sour mix is now ready to use and will keep for us to two weeks in the fridge.

Choose a great tequila

When it comes to making the best Margarita cocktail recipe, choosing a great tequila is key. It just tastes so much better when the tequila has some personality! This is why we love Espolòn Blanco tequila, which has a light and earthy flavor profile, rich in agave, with lingering notes of black pepper and vanilla.

Fresh is best

The best fruity cocktails are made with fresh juice, that’s just facts. So, if you are at all able to get your hands on some fresh juice to make this apple drink recipe, go for it. However, if you don’t have any fresh apple juice on hand, don’t worry – the conventional, store-bought kind will also do the trick.
