Tablespoons brown sugar

Teaspoon allspice

Pinch of nutmeg

Orange, kept whole

Handful of cloves
Cinnamon sticks or star anise to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Add the apple cider to a large pot over medium heat

Add the brown sugar, allspice and a pinch of nutmeg

Stir until the sugar is dissolved and bring to a low boil

Cover a whole orange with whole cloves by sticking them into the peel

Add the orange to the cider mixture and reduce the heat to a slow simmer

Cover and simmer for 20 minutes

Serve in heat-proof mugs with a cinnamon stick garnish
