QUICK TIPS

01

Make pumpkin-infused vodka by mixing together pumpkin puree and spice, with ½ cup of vodka in a large jar. Seal and keep in the fridge for three days before using, shaking it a few times a day.

02

Make your own vanilla vodka: Unscrew the bottle cap of a vodka bottle, pour out a shot and add 2 vanilla beans, close, and shake. Keep it in a dark cool place for about 2 – 3 weeks and it’s ready!

03

For a vegan-friendly Hot Pumpkin Pie Cocktail, substitute the milk for almond or coconut milk, and use coconut cream instead of double cream for the topping.

04

Turn your Hot Pumpkin Pie cocktail into a hot rum cocktail by replacing the vodka with dark rum.

05

To really impress, serve your spiced pumpkin cocktails with strips of flaky, buttery pumpkin pie crust. Absolutely moreish!

How to make the best Hot Pumpkin Pie Cocktail ever

Making these winter vodka cocktails is as easy as pie – if you know what you’re doing. As always, using the best ingredients is the key to success. The biggest question is whether you should opt for pumpkin purée or pumpkin pie filling. For the best Pumpkin Pie drinks recipes, it has to be pumpkin purée. While pumpkin pie filling is delicious, it’s also quite sweet and packed with spices. To give you more control over the sweetness and spice levels of your Pumpkin Pie cocktail, you’ll need pumpkin purée – it has no added spices or sugar. It’s just pure pumpkin.

Your secret weapon

This is a drink you’ll definitely want to serve and share with your nearest (and most deserving) friends and family. Pumpkin pie alcoholic drinks are also great to serve as a tasty distraction if talk around the ‘adult’ table turns to politics, parental advice, or family drama. Distract, distract, distract! Works like a treat.
